The Scottish Order of Christian Unity was founded in 1995 to be a Christian voice within Scotland in the area of family life, education, the media, and medical ethics.
We believe God’s commandments to be ageless truths, so that combined with the teachings of his son Jesus Christ; we have an irrefutable framework for life. Our supporters are from all denominations and we are concerned with the ever growing pressures of living in a society that allows changes to laws simply for reasons of general expediency or scientific progress, which affect marriage, family life, medical advances in genetics and the ethical considerations relating to human life in general;.
SOCU is a small charity, but we are able to make our position clear when and where necessary. We are involved in organising two public meetings a year and also conferences in conjunction with other organisations. Do check to see our current activities. Please have a look at the resources we have available on our web site that may be of help to you. We have published a number of booklets and are continuing to do so.
Other organisations, principally The Christian Institute, CARE for Scotland and the Evangelical Alliance have also taken up the challenge of safeguarding the Christian traditions of our nation; although not necessarily within the Scottish Parliament.
If you feel frustrated or anxious about proposed changes to the law, then do contact us and let us know of your concerns. We do wish to represent public opinion, not just our own. Remember many changes come about because we do not exercise our democratic right to make our views known through lobbying our elected representatives. |
